A meeting with the General Secretary of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC) transpired at the premises of AZSTAND.

A meeting was held with the Secretary General of the Institute of Standards and Metrology of the Islamic Countries (SMIIC) Ihsan Övüt at the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), which is subordinate to the Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control State Service under the Ministry of Economy.
The meeting discussed the development of cooperation between the institutions in the field of standardization, participation in technical committees of SMIIC, exchange of experience in the field of halal certification and other issues.
At the end of the meeting, the general secretary of SMIIC presented "Introduction to SMIIC and its activities", "Working procedure and information system of Technical Committees of SMIIC", "OIC/SMIIC 6:2019 OIC/SMIIC 1 on how Halal food and beverages are prepared, stored and special requirements for application to places of service", "OIC/SMIIC 9:2019 Halal Tourism Services - General Requirements", "OIC/SMIIC 4:2018 Halal Cosmetics - General requirements", "OIC/SMIIC 50-1:2022 Halal Pharmaceuticals - Certificates were presented to AZSTAND employees who participated in the trainings held on the standards of Part 1 – General Requirements.
