The Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), operating under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has officially obtained the right to publish the standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This milestone enables the official distribution and publication of IEC standards related to electrical, electrotechnical, and related technologies in the country.
The implementation of these internationally recognized IEC standards will strengthen the national standardization framework, enhance the quality of locally produced goods and services, and support the wider integration of innovation and technological compatibility within Azerbaijan’s economy.
Starting from January 1, 2026, AZSTAND holds the status of Associate Member of the IEC. This membership grants AZSTAND access to the IEC standards database and the opportunity to participate in Technical Committees across key sectors such as electricity, electronics, industrial technologies, information and communication technologies, robotics, and nanotechnology.
The implementation of IEC standards will contribute significantly to improve the product quality, production processes, and competitiveness of Azerbaijan’s economy in line with international best practices.
About IEC: The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is the world’s leading organization responsible for the preparation and publication of international standards for all electrical, electronic, and related technologies.
