Representatives of the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), operating under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the assembly of the Working Group on “Sustainable Development Goals Management” of ISO/PC 343 under the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The meeting was held in Dakar, Senegal, at the initiative of the Association Sénégalaise de Normalisation (ASN).
In addition to AZSTAND, the meeting brought together representatives of national standardization bodies from several countries, including the Danish Standards Foundation (DS), the Standardization Administration of China (SAC), the Mongolian Agency for Standardization and Metrology (MASM), the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee (JISC), the Standards Council of Singapore (SSC), the Malawi Bureau of Standards (MBS), and the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), along with delegates from other ISO member countries.
During the meeting, participants discussed international standardization initiatives related to management systems supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN). The annual report of ISO/PC 343 was reviewed, and a range of technical matters concerning cooperation with ISO technical committees and other international organizations were considered.
Note: ISO/PC 343 was established to support the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through the development of international standards. The Republic of Azerbaijan is represented in this committee as a participating member.
