AZSTAND Representative Participates in ISO Plenary Meeting in Sweden

A representative from the Azerbaijan Standardization Institute (AZSTAND), operating under the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control of the Republic of Azerbaijan, attended the 40th Plenary Meeting of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) Technical Committee 126 (ISO/TC 126) on “Tobacco and Tobacco Products”. Additionally, the representative participated in the working group meetings of ISO/TC SC3, which included discussions on “Vape and Vapour Products”, “Analytical Methods for the Testing of Emissions of Vapour Products” (ISO/TC SC3/WG3), and “Requirements and Test Methods for Electronic Cigarette Devices” (ISO/TC SC3/WG4), held in Stockholm, the capital of the Kingdom of Sweden.
In addition to Azerbaijan, approximately 60 representatives from the standardization bodies of other countries, members of the Technical Committee, participated in the meetings organized by the Swedish Institute for Standards (SIS).
The meetings centered on the discussion of new standardization projects, the revision of existing standards, the formation of new working groups, and the refinement of certain existing standards. Among the key topics addressed was the suggestion to revise ISO 21160:2018 “Cigarettes — Determination of Selected Carbonyls in the Mainstream Smoke of Cigarettes — Method Using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography”.
